The Chocolate Museum is part of the foundation of the Barcelona Pastry Guild. This non-profit organization was created in 1997 to create and manage the Chocolate Museum and to continue the work of the EPGB, the guild’s pastry school.
The function of the Pastry Guild is to represent, defend, and promote the common interests of its members and, by extension, of the pastry as a traditional craft and a fundamental element of the Catalan cultural heritage.
With the foundation, we work with a double purpose: on the one hand, to care for and promote the artisan craft, projecting it into the future, and on the other hand, to safeguard and disseminate its great cultural value through the Chocolate Museum.
The EPGB (Escola de Pastisseria del Gremi de Barcelona) was created in 1975 and is currently a center of national and international reference. Under the umbrella of the Fundació is also the student residence Barcelona Resident, which hosts students, researchers, teachers, and participants in the professional activities of the entity.
